In search for Hypnea musciformis
-
I work for a Brazilian company specialized in innovation and manufacture of natural raw materials for the cosmetics industry with focus on sustainability.
Currently, we work with Hypnea musciformis from Northeast of Brazil, but to increase production we need to find other points of sourching as well. Or to increase the production in our farming through better farming method.
Can anyone help?

@rassa_61 There is no evidence or mention of Hypnea musciformis being present in Newfoundland based on the available information. The species is documented in the Hawaiian Islands, where it was introduced in 1974 for mariculture and has since spread to O‘ahu, Moloka‘i, and Maui. Its global distribution includes regions such as the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Caribbean, South Africa, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Americas, including Florida and Brazil. While it is reported in areas like the Canary Islands, Madeira, and parts of West Africa , there is no indication of its occurrence in Newfoundland.
