Course Overview
This 12-week non-credit workshop is designed for both beginners and aspiring professionals looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of shellfish aquaculture. The course provides the technical knowledge needed to manage or start a shellfish farming enterprise.
Topics Include:- Shellfish biology, anatomy, and physiology
- Site selection and permitting processes
- Hatchery, nursery, and grow-out systems
- Risk management strategies
- Sustainable farming practices
- Business and marketing for shellfish operations
You will also benefit from insights shared by expert guest lecturers and earn a Certificate of Completion upon successfully finishing the course.
