Off-Season Nursery Cleaning

Now that harvest is over, we're beginning the breakdown and cleaning of our nursery and water processing system to prep for the upcoming nursery season. We clean everything once right after the spools leave the nursery and a second time leading up to September. We don't use glue anymore on our PVC plumbing so that we can reach every part of the pipes for scrubbing. After we scrub, we bleach everything for 24-48 hours. Then we neutralize and reassemble using heavy duty teflon tape. This process is pretty space efficient; all the plumbing for inside our nursery fits in one bleach bath.
