Float gear winding/ chafing

We have been seeing a lot of our floats wind around our grow lines this season. I know a few solutions have been proposed in the past such as PVC pipe sections to keep the float away from the grow line. How much chafe does the PVC cause? What has worked on your farms?

@ben_kelsey8244 Ben, looking at the growline to the left and to the right, they look like two very different lines. Is there a connection, splice, or knot where the buoy is attached. Coud one side be hard and the other soft lay. Such differences in rope construction can cause different torque under tension.
The PVC pipe should be OK chafe-wise if the ID on both ends is rounded a bit.

@ben_kelsey8244 also have this problem. Going to rig up some kind of pvc swivel next season. We are seeing the twist start to unlay the growline. I don’t foresee the pvc wearing down the growline in any significant way.

@clifford_goudey, It's a single length of 1/2'' hydropro sink going to try using some pvc next year.

@trip_whilden, we noticed the line unlaying a bit by the end of the season too. If you get the chance send me a picture of what you come up with.
