Hello all!
I'm a little late to the party on course digestion as I'm traveling at the moment with limited access to technology.
Anyways, my name is Madeline and I am 27 years old, currently living in Tasmania, Australia. I plan to come back to the US in a couple years and am keen on starting a kelp farm near my hometown of Bellingham, Washington. I am hoping to keep travelling for a bit and try to work on kelp farms as I go to gain knowledge and experience. For the mean time I will be attempting to digest all the information I can and learn alongside all of you!
If anyone has connections to kelp farms in Australia, I would be very interested to get into contact. In the near future I will be working on an oyster farm to get my foot in the door of the aquaculture world.
Thanks & look forward to it all!

@jackie_dexter Hello Jackie, are you still involved with your seaweed and mussel venture? We are looking at starting up an Ocean Farm on Bruny Island. I'd love to touch base and get an update and hear about your experience. Cheers, Jonathan
@madeline_hart Hi! I was just in Hobart for the International Seaweed Symposium. Did you manage to attend and link up with any AUS farmers there? If not, it might be worth looking at the program for AUS-based operations/presenters. I don't have any personal connections on the ground, but it appears there are quite a few early starters and a lot of interest developing. Will you be working on one of the oyster farms in Tasmania?
