Hi all-
Have spent my working life in the restaurant industry, mostly New York and Oregon. Recently sold my restaurant and got a house in Astoria (Oregon). Really interested in farming seaweed, although it sounds like it may be an uphill battle in Oregon. Recently attended a seaweed knowledge symposium up in Washington that was very informative, and tomorrow I'm going to check out an oyster farm. I've not yet begun the permit application process, although I've been in touch with Oregon Sea Grant as well as chatting with some folks at different universities. If anyone has pertinent knowledge or connections for Oregon/Southern Washington I'd love to hear about it.
@jonathan_berube Hello. Currently living in Los Angeles, this year planning on a move to Oregon. Was thinking the Astoria area would be an excellent location for a kelp farm. ! will be interested in your updates. & On today’s session there seemed to be a few in the PNW.
