Following the snail trail!
-
Attention all kelp farmers! Cara Blaine, graduate student at University of New England, is looking for your help to understand more about the small marine snail Lacuna vinca. Whether you have experienced a snail infestation or not, please consider taking a few minutes to complete this survey. Please only complete the survey one time per farm, but feel free to repeat the survey for additional farm sites.

This survey is confidential and is part of a research project. Your participation is completely voluntary and all questions in the survey are optional. The survey should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete.
At the end of the questions, you will have the opportunity to share your email address if you want to participate in collecting some data from your farm this growing season. If you have any questions about this project, contact Cara Blaine at cblaine@une.edu.
Thank you for your time!
@cara_blaine Thanks for posting! Farmer folk, I highly recommend filling out Cara's survey if you get the chance -- she's doing some great work to try and understand how to best mitigate snail predation on kelp farms across both coasts.
Tagging here a few farmers who I know have either experienced snail predation, or might be interested in learning more about your research! @azure_cygler, @nicholas_mangini, @suzie_flores, @donna_collinssmith, @angie_bowers, @alf_pryor17, @schery_umanzor.
Cara -- please keep the community posted on what your findings show!
