Engineering techniques & kelp farming

I recently dove into the world of Kelp farming and it has kept my excitement every day.

Currently I am rounding up my Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and looking into a future Masters direction. 

How can I use my mechanical engineering skills into the field of kelp farming?
