Start-up farm in Australia/Work experience America?
-
Hi all,
My Uncle and I are currently in the process of starting a farm in Australia NSW. We're still in the process of applying for a lease for our site but we're extremely passionate and excited about this and are looking for anyone who would be interested in working together with us. Please feel free to discuss below.
Similarly, are there any opportunities available to fly abroad to America for us to work on a seaweed farm to gain experience for us to take back to Australia while helping the American farmer at the same time? Looking forward to hear from you all.
Thank you
@stephen_zarb which part of NSW?

@stephen_zarb Hi, Kenya isn't America, but we are also in the process of undertaking a Seaweed test grow. You are welcome to volunteer. When you get started, I'd be happy to come over for the experience and to help out.

Hi Belle,
It's been a bit of a bumpy ride but we've finally made some good progress. We couldn't get established in NSW as the laws there aren't properly established and we could only potentially start a deep sea farm instead of being inside a bay. We then looked at SA, the laws there are better but they were holding out because they wanted to wait for more bidders.
We've now spent this last week in Tasmania. The climate and council here are great and they want to help us get started. We're investing in property here and are currently in the process of sub-leasing the water in front of the property to establish our farm. Still early beginnings but very exciting nonetheless
