Hi I recently joined this community and I am very eager to learn as much as I can about everything that has to do with regenerative ocean farming!
I am currently an apprentice electrician and I still have a few years to go before I finish my schooling and get my license. I want to get into regenerative ocean farming when I am done with said apprenticeship but I also get this itch to just start asap because I want to get into the field while its still young. does anyone think that's a valid worry? or should I just wait it out, finish my apprenticeship, and then get into it.

on top of that, I live very close to Lake Michigan, I understand that this field is done on ocean water, but I was wondering if there is anyone doing anything similar here on the Great Lakes so I could get experience with something.

    Thank you.

@elijah_gelfman1562 even though the great lakes don't support ocean farming, if you're interested in working on the water anywhere the best thing to do is get boating skills so you can become familiar with the tools of the trade and the environment you live near. Not sure if you have that already!
Also you should take a look at the Great Lakes Sea Grant to get more information about the types of aquaculture in your area. GreenWave specializes in salt water ocean farming, so I hope your local sea grant will have some more resources for you.
