Amazon funded kelp farm integrated with offshore wind
-
Not sure I totally get what the rationale is for co-locating a kelp term with a wind turbine array, but this is a pretty large scale project.

Here comes the world's first offshore wind seaweed farm
@jack_mason thanks for sharing! My guess is that the space surrounding the wind farm is blocked off to recreational activity so co-locating the kelp farm there ensures that the ocean space is utilized well without impinging on other spaces that could be used for various purposes. Another thought: it concentrates human activity in one area to, hopefully, limit/concentrate disturbances due to our boats in the ocean.

Windmills suck. They give off a low frequency vibration that disturbs livestock and wild animals. They cause migratory problems in marine mammals (read that beached whales) and may disturb reproductive cycles in fish. And the thing is, we don't need them. Underwater turbines don't turn as fast and have far more torque.
