What a great community!

Hi all, my name is Roberto, and I wanted to say what an awesome community this is. I'm deep in the rabbit hole of trying to figure out how to build tech to make permitting for seaweed farmers easier, and the wealth of knowledge in this group has been awesome to see.
Like I mentioned, working on a platform to make permitting for marine projects easier, and if anyone has any suggestions or difficulties they encountered in the lease/permitting process, I'd love to learn from you. Likewise, if I can help you out in some capacity, please let me know!
Feel free to connect here or via email (roberto@endur.earth).
@roberto_91 @torre_polizzi I'm not sure if the two of you have had the opportunity to connect. Torre was working on a California-specific permitting effort some years ago and may have perspective on state-specific needs.
As you are considering the scope of your effort, in addition to consulting the resources linked in our Leasing & Permitting 101 course, you may want to take a look at the Seaweed for Europe Licensing Toolkit. While the process for leasing and permitting can be very state/jurisdiction specific, there are some common elements across regions that could benefit from some standardization. The Alaska Department of Fish & Game guidance on applying for an operations permit is some of the most comprehensive. Their Joint Agency Application & Instructions includes a lot of the common elements that you will see across applications, regardless of whether it's local/state/federal. Looking for common threads across applications may be a good starting point.
