UAS Sitka Campus is seeking a Mariculture Program Coordinator to assist with the operations and maintenance duties for a growing seaweed and shellfish mariculture training program. This position is term-funded through September 30, 2026.
To be successful in this position, you will have a broad educational and career background that demonstrates an interest in aquaculture, mariculture, and education. You will have the ability to coordinate travel/transportation logistics, materials/gear distribution, purchasing supplies, and student outreach/intake support. Additionally, you will have skills for working on small vessels and marine equipment operations and maintenance.

JOB DUTIES
%50 Program Operations and Maintenance
- Assist with Mariculture water farm site planning, set-up, maintenance and tear down.
- Assist with data collection protocols, report writing, lab prep, system design and installation.
- Travel to water farm sites to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate.
- Maintain and calibrate research equipment.
- Upkeep boat and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with ensuring established safety and emergency policies and procedures are followed.
%50 Program Support
- Coordinate logistics, travel and transportation needs.
- Prepare, track, and ship educational materials to students.
- Assist with outfitting Aquaculture program students with gear and equipment required for
specific classes.
- Provide information and documentation for program purchases and travel requests following
university procedures.
- Maintain records following applicable policies and procedures.
- Assist with program outreach and student intake support.
