Green, quality jobs : seaweed in developing nations

I'm Fujii and I'm passionate about green, quality jobs. I built my first business in rural Africa using $100 of peanuts as “seed” capital to help move women from subsistence and cotton farming to a year round farming operation with diversified crops that replenished soil, could nourish their families, and create employment for 100 women. I saw how this work transformed the women, their households and community. Most recently while working in Senegal I was struck by how climate change is impacting fishermen and farmers, and developed a passion for seaweed as a solution that could solve for many cross sector challenges - from climate change, poverty, hunger to gender equity.
I believe that growing the seaweed industry could provide meaningful employment opportunities to millions of people. I’m currently researching supply chain challenges and how to best support farmers in developing nations.
Check out a mini-series on seaweed I'm writing.
