Hi everyone, my name is Celia Garrity and I am a master's student researching experiences of the U.S. seaweed aquaculture industry. If you are a seaweed farmer, harvester, hatchery technician, scientist, or otherwise identify as a stakeholder to seaweed aquaculture in the continental United States, I would love to set up a brief conversation with you! I'm hoping to learn more about what draws different people to seaweed aquaculture and how those closest to the U.S. industry perceive its pace of growth. I'm attaching a flyer with more information and my contact details. This research will continue through the end of February, so please reach out if you're interested in participating or have any questions!

Greetings, I have a slightly different angle about ocean farms that you might be interested in. There is a small booklet that may help, located on our website at marinea.org. It's about 20 pages and covers why developing these farms is so important. We want to develop a type of red algae called "Asparagopsis taxiformis" that cuts down methane production in cows and sheep by about 60% on average at a 2% infusion with regular feed. There is a need for this because it is believed that cattle and other livestock collectively put out as much greenhouse gasses as all the cars, trucks and air planes combined. We also want to develop regular cattle feed from green algae. Algae also make a really good fertilizer which is not oil based so should be good with crazy governments that want to reduce farming. That will give you an idea of what we are looking at, but not as much as to why. You are welcome to contact me if you like. I am bob@marinea.org Good luck on your paper.
