Seeding with non motile spores

We've always only counted the swimming spores on seeding day, but I'm hearing more and more that the non swimming spores may also successfully settle on the seed string (see paper attached on bull kelp).

One tip I've heard recently, when there are non swimming spores -- use aeration for the 24 hour settlement period; this could offer some movement in the tank and give those spores a better change of finding the seed string.

I'm wondering if anyone has any success (or failure) in including the non swimming spores in their spore counts on seeding day?
