    Hi All,
Is anyone aware of a kelp farm in the state of Florida. We would love to chat to someone with experience doing warm water kelp farming.
    Thanks.

@hogan_mcfadden Welcome! There's a couple discussions about warm water farming on the Hub already - you should check out this post and comments: Warm water farming
    Hope that helps!

@hogan_mcfadden, thanks for the post. I know of 4-5 projects that are harvesting algae & macroalgae (sargassum) around Florida, but at this time I'm not sure if any of them plan on farming. The general perspective seems to be that there are already too many algal blooms and too much sargassum, and people can just harvest them in a socially conscientious way. I don't know if this is true, but it seems to be the view of some researchers at Florida universities, the local governments and concerned individuals.
If you're interested in these more general projects, I can drop some links in the thread here.
Also, the Phyconomy database might be able to point you in the right direction, but it doesn't seem to list specific locations of farms, with entries only at the level of countries (ex. US or Netherlands or Australia...)
    Hope that helps.
    Cheers

I had a brief text-exchange with Ben Silone, the CEO of Arktide (see link), and he mentioned that they are interested in / planning on farming sargassum around Florida, but you'll have to talk with them directly to learn about how much progress they've made.
    Cheers
