How to get rid of Ulva growing on spools

If you see Ulva growing on your spools (under the microscope), you can expose the spool to air for 10 - 15 mins to help rid it (it doesn't tolerate desiccation well) and/or reduce the light intensity. The trade off with lowering the light is that is will also slow down the kelp growth.
