Greetings from Santa Cruz, CA!
-
Hi everyone!
excited to meet you all!My name is Sean, I'm an Ex-Google[X] robotics and software engineer based in the Santa Cruz CA area.
I came across the Greenwave community while investigating techniques for near-shore IMTA (Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture).
I'm interested in brainstorming ways that technology can help the movement (underwater sensors, automated maintenance, data driven yield estimates...etc), and get my hands dirty laying some kelp lines too
.Reach out if you want to talk shop, or just to say hello!
Sean
@sean_cassero -Hi Sean, thanks for reaching out! Stoked that you're in Santa Cruz. I'm trying to organize team of people from Monterrey to Humboldt who want to get something started and put us on the same google spreadsheet to stay connected. I'm a grad student at UCSC, but I research plastic waste and will be in New Orleans for the year. Feel free to call/text/email to reach me. 650 387 9239/calang@ucsc.edu

@christopher_lang - Thanks for the reply! I'd be interested in joining that spreadsheet, sounds like a good way to collaborate. Enjoy New Orleans! My partner just started a PhD program at UCSC as well so I'll be here for the long haul. Feel free to reach out when you return.
@christopher_lang - sounds good Sean. can you send me your email address? I'll add you to the spreadsheet and existing thread.
best, Chris

@christopher_lang - There are a lot of Californians here for sure! The permitting roadblocks are generally the big downer for our state. Happy you're putting something together though and curious what you're thinking of! I'm also based out of Marin - keep me posted.
@jwhis there sure are. please send me your email and contact info if you'd like to be added to the google spreadsheet and email list of Northern Californians interested in seaweed farming. best, Chris

@sean_cassero -Hi Sean, would love to talk shop. My background is in Mechanical Engineering and I am sure there is plenty of healthy crossover between our disciplines that could help drive solutions in the space. I'm based in Oakland so not TOO far from you
@azhar_meyer -Nice! I actually moved to Santa Cruz from Berkeley, so we used to be neighbors
Whats a good way to reach you?
