Quint: "He can't stay down with 3 barrels on him. Not with three barrels, he can't"
-
I'm working with a marine engineer to design the anchoring system for my farm off the coast of Vashon Island in Washington state.
Current direction and flow are obviously considerations, so I've deployed an aquadopp (ADCP). My site has quite strong and tricky currents. This short video reminded me of that classic scene in Jaws where the shark pulls down the 3 barrels.
The buoys in this scene are stationary with me in neutral in my boat but moving quickly backwards with the current.
If you're looking for a marine engineering firm with experience in aquaculture let me know and I can hook you up. While they haven't finished their work for me yet I'm quite pleased so far and have no doubt they'll produce a great final product (even if they are Canadian :)
@mike_spranger - love the reference and that’s wild! Is the firm only local to WA or do they work elsewhere?
@jwhis -Hi, if you're referring to the marine engineering firm that I'm using, they are a Canadian based company and I know have done mariculture related work for companies in both Canada and the US. I don't know beyond that.
