Hello from Iceland

My name is Jamie. I'm from California and Hong Kong, now living in Iceland. After working as a graphic designer for food and restaurant branding and packaging for 8 years, I moved to Iceland to pursue a coastal resource management masters degree (MRM, 2018).
My love for seaweed grew after learning about the importance of natural beds and all the positive effects seaweeds have for the environment. In 2019, I started to experiment with growing seedlings and partnered up with a mussel farmer to deploy seeded ropes to his mussel lines.
At the same time, I began to develop some seaweed food products to find an outlet for the produce. I started a company in 2021, Fine Foods Íslandica, to begin selling seaweed products. Our mission is to bring delicious, sustainable foods to home pantries.
I'm currently looking for responsible partners who are passionate about seaweed, food and collaborations to forge a way forward in Iceland.
