Aloha from Maui! My name is Nikki and I am starting some research into starting my own seaweed farm. I would love any information on the feasibility of seaweed farming in this climate, case studies, etc. I would especially love to connect with folks on other Hawaiian island who have the same vision.
I am a sustainability consultant and have worked across sectors for several years on climate solutions. Seaweed looks like a promising solution to many problems we face and I am interested in digging in further.

Hi! Sadly I don't live on island anymore but if I did I would reach out to Scott Fisher. He is the Chief Conservation Officer of Maui Hawaii Land trust and an expert in sustainable practices and native species. He doesn't specialize in aquaculture but I know he teaches at the University of Hawaii on Maui and is very immersed in and educated on the natural history of Maui and is very passionate about sustainable practices on Maui. If he doesn't have valuable insight for you I feel like he would know someone else to direct you to.
