How is everyone handling the extended low temperatures this winter? We have very limited access to the water with sea ice filling in the bay here in Branford, CT.
@ben_kelsey8244 Did anyone manage to swap out their spherical/Polyform buoys with spars before cold snap? We've seen the ice scrape the kelp right off the lines during break-up, but the last time we had this much ice in Connecticut, we were still outplanting meiospore seeded lines and the kelp was much smaller at this time of year. Hopefully the early season growth (thank you, gametophytes) will give the kelp a leg up.
