Kelp needs light and nutrients to grow. In ideal conditions, gametophyte biomass can double every month. In order to maintain these ideal conditions, media refreshment on a monthly basis is required. This monthly water refreshment also provides a chance to look at each culture closely and monitor it for any issues with contamination or general health.
