Learn Your Knots

One of the critical parts of putting together your arrays is making tight and secure connections between different elements of the system. Connection points, especially those between different types of material, are common places of failure. Ensuring that you are using knots not prone to chafing and having adequate space to tie your knots can help reduce this problem.

There are three key knots you’ll want to master as you put together your arrays.

Knots are used throughout an ocean farm to connect different components together.

Key Knots for Ocean Farming:

  1. Bowline

  2. Anchor knot

  3. Butterfly Knot

Watch this video tutorial to learn how to tie each of them and where they’re used on the farm.
