For more than half of the hatchery season, any progress in the growth of your kelp won’t be visible to the naked eye. We’ll guide you through a routine of microscope observations to ensure that your spools are on track and help you stay vigilant for signs of contamination. If you do encounter contamination, we’ll offer advice on best practices for controlling it before it becomes a significant issue. Lastly, we’ll conclude with some strategies for keeping informative and organized notes and share a spreadsheet tool for recording all of your observations.
