In addition to your on-farm work ramping up as you monitor growth, keeping an eye out for bio-fouling, and preparing for harvest, this is your final opportunity to line up sales. It’s also the critical juncture at which you deliver on the commitments you’ve made to buyers earlier in the season. To a large extent, the level of stress involved with your harvest season can be managed by careful planning — for best and worst case scenarios as well as everything in between — throughout the rest of the year. In an ideal world, you’d have your sales, harvesting, and logistics plans locked in before the end of February so that you can spend March through May simply executing, without having to make decisions in the moment.
</oembed>
