Get Paid

You’ve delivered your kelp to your buyer, but the sale isn’t over until the money is in the bank. In a perfect world, all buyers would honor their side of the contract perfectly, every time. However, we don’t live in a perfect world, and people sometimes fail to honor their commitments. It’s your job as a business owner to know what the terms of your sales agreement are, and when you can expect to see a check from your buyer.

If you do not receive payment from your buyer within the appropriate time period, contact them immediately. Without being angry or aggressive, inquire as to when you can expect to see the payment and let them know that you will be following up with them daily until you receive it. This is usually sufficient to inspire action, provided that you have a good relationship with your buyer to begin with.
