Kelp is often referred to as a climate-friendly, regenerative crop. GreenWave’s Kelp Climate Fund pays farmers subsidies for growing kelp based on the convincing evidence that it has a suite of positive environmental impacts on the marine environment; including nitrogen and carbon sequestration and reef restoration. But what is the state of the science behind the environmental benefits of kelp? In this session, we have invited some of the leading scientists studying this question to speak on what we know, what we don’t know, and what still needs to be studied.
