Cleaning & Storage Station

You’ll be surprised by how much of the time you spend working in your hatchery is dedicated to cleaning. Maintaining a clean and sterile environment is critical to the success of your hatchery. It can be very helpful to designate a space for sterilizing and storing clean lab equipment. 

Also, consider if you will have any hazardous materials in your hatchery, such as chemicals for making nutrient media, and make sure they’re properly contained.

Clean Station Checklist

  • A large sink to wash equipment

  • A space for bleach baths (such as plastic storage totes)

  • A drying table or rack

  • Lidded storage totes for clean equipment

  • Shelving to keep clean equipment organized
