Getting Started :
What you'll learn
In this course, we’ll cover the basic components that make up a hatchery system.
In order to create the optimal growth conditions for your sugar kelp seed, you’ll need to meet certain environmental parameters: access to filtered seawater, a method for controlling temperature, a light source, nutrients, etc. You’ll need to design and make your seed spools and choose tanks and shelving in and on which to house them.
We’ll walk you through the different options for each of these types of equipment and discuss the tradeoffs of each choice as you work to compile your master hatchery equipment list.
