Kelp Culturing 101

In this course, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of what kelp is, its natural life cycle, and different elements of kelp anatomy. The hatchery process mimics the natural reproductive cycle of kelp. This course will provide an introduction on how different hatchery techniques target the different developmental stages of the kelp life cycle in order to grow seed in a controlled setting. Finally, we’ll conclude with the essential and optional equipment every kelp hatchery needs and the important decision points you should consider when making these purchases.
