Lesson 2
Delivering the Goods
Back to: Fulfilling Orders
Wholesale
In most cases, the terms of sale with your wholesale customers will have been set far in advance. So, at harvest time your job is simply to execute your side of the agreement to the very best of your ability. This means having contingency plans in case of things going wrong — weather, limited labor, broken crane, etc. Think through all the possibilities ahead of time, and talk with your buyer about what the options are in each scenario. We encourage you to over-communicate in order to build trust and rapport, particularly if it is the first year working with a given customer.
For more information on the specifics of dock-side delivery to a wholesale customer, review the Buyer Handoff lesson in the Harvest course.
