Back to: Outplanting
If you’re using a 5-line array, you’ll want to follow the same basic principles of outplanting that you would on a single-line array. The main difference is that, with a few small adaptations, you can outplant several lines simultaneously. To do this, you’ll need to build or configure a type of bar to hold multiple seed spools at once. This could be as simple as tack welding several pairs of vice grips to a piece of stock aluminum.
Other farmers attach a seeding bar to the side of their skiff and pull themselves sideways down the array.

Whatever system you choose to configure, make sure your seed string is able to make tight loops around the growline and you’re not sacrificing the quality of outplanting.
