Deploy one anchor in the correct location
Back to: Farm Installation
In the last lesson, we described the process for installing a dummy line on a single-line array. We replicate the exact same process when installing a 5-line array.
To Install a 5-Line Array
-

-
Deploy the second anchor slightly inset from its ultimate resting place
-
Run a dummy line to connect the two anchors
-
Drag the second anchor backward to bring the system under tension

Once the dummy line has been installed and the anchors are the correct distance apart, you’ll need to swap out the dummy line with the spreader bar and two of the 5 growlines. We call this installing “the bones.” To do this, you’ll connect the bridle lines on either end of the spreader bar to the loop at the end of your anchor line with a soft shackle. Then, using the dummy line that’s still attached, pull or motor yourself to the far end of the array, paying out the lines as you go.
