How to Transport Spools: The Transfer Tube Method

The transfer tube method uses repurposed 4-inch PVC seeding tubes to secure individual spools during transport. The tube is filled with chilled, filtered seawater and fitted with styrofoam rings at both ends for stability, preventing the spools from hitting the walls and losing blades. As long as the water remains cool, the spools can be safely transported for up to 36 hours. However, this method may cause some blade loss due to water turbulence, and the weight of the water can make transportation more challenging.
