Has anyone used a duckbill anchor to anchor down gear systems for kelp or have any thoughts on it?

Pipes and wooden stakes have been used to anchor seaweed lines in other regions, particularly for shallow water cultivation. During his time at Washington State Dept of Natural Resources, @thomas_mumford produced a manual for nori cultivation, which included some guidance on pipe anchors. But to my understanding, no pipe anchors or nori longlines ever installed in the state.

GreenWave's guide to common anchor types (linked below) breaks down the pros and cons of different anchor types used by kelp growers. The "manta ray" style in that guide is the most similar to the duckbill, but I am not aware of anyone using this style of anchor in North America. If properly installed, this type of anchor (and helical anchors) may have exceptional holding power for their size and price. However, if they fail, they fail completely.
